Who are we? What are we doing? And Why?

The Amsterdam Stun is a free magazine for the English speaking community who frequent the bars in the centre of Amsterdam. It was started by me, Andy Reeves, nearly fourteen years ago, to let a few friends around the world know what I was up to. A few people saw some of the extra copies that I had left over, and things just got out of hand. From 10 copies of a single sheet of A4 paper, we now have a 36-page magazine with a circulation of up to 1,000 copies a month going into the bars around the Nieuwendijk and Red-Light district of Amsterdam. On average, we have six people contributing to each edition, English, Dutch and Scottish mainly, and none of us get paid for our labours. The Amsterdam Stun is a labour of love! |
