The Editor's Bit

I was thinking about having a World Cup theme to our cover this month, but when it’s the 180th edition of the Stun, what else could a bar magazine put on the cover? Our team of experts scoured the country looking for the right dartboard to use and presented a short-list of suitable candidates for me to take photos of.  To complete the picture, I needed darts, which I forgot to take with me, so thank you Ramses in Finnegan’s Rainbow, Pat in Coco’s Outback and Pedro in the Flying Dutchman for the loan of your darts.

In the end, our judge (Elly) chose the dartboard from the Flying Dutchman to adorn our 180th cover because it looks well used and has probably been around as long as the Stun.

Even though there’s no World Cup on the cover, there’s plenty inside. On page 27, you’ll find my guide to the best places to watch the action on TV and Frank takes a look at the chances of the teams on the following pages.  Still on football, our Premiership Predictions League has a winner! Find out who it is on page 30.

Also in this month’s Stun, we’ve got pictures of off-pitch action from the Rugby 7’s, a couple of birthday parties and loads of people around the bars, plus the gig-list, jokes and Elly takes a look at next week’s election.
