The Editor's Bit

Last month's appeal for a pre-used PC didn't exactly result in a flood of offers, so it looks like I'll have to struggle along with my old one for a bit longer.

The number of entries we received for the last crossword was also a bit disappointing: just one! This month's prize is five bottles of beer, so we expect to see a lot more of you trying your luck; we always get more entries when there's booze up for grabs.

It's March, which means it's time to fill in the annual tax-return. Sadly, my friend and bookkeeper Ad died unexpectedly a couple of months ago, so here we go with this month's appeal: Is there a kind Stun reader out there with bookkeeping/accountancy skills who can check the Stun's books and help me fill in my tax-return before the end of this month? I can't pay much, but I'd be eternally grateful.

For some reason or another, the photos in the last Stun came out a lot darker than usual. As soon as I finish writing this column, I'll find out if the problem repeats itself this month. If it does, I've got a few ideas I can try before I send the final edition to the printers. By the time you pick this up in your local bar, it should be in the quality you've come to expect from your Amsterdam Stun, filled with photos of people we encountered over the last month and all of your favourite pages.
