Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun! I usually try to get the latest Stun into the bars by the second weekend of the month, but there was no chance of meeting the deadline this time. Then again, we hardly ever make that deadline in January! After the excesses of Christmas and New Year’s Eve, it takes a while to get back in the swing.

Last month, I asked our readers to send in New Year’s Eve photos from around the bars because I wouldn’t be out and about with my camera on the night. Our coming out a bit later gave you more time to send them to us, but in the end, it didn’t make any difference: Nobody sent us any photos! Oh well, never mind, maybe we’ll get some next year. With hindsight, maybe I should have made the request in our Facebook Group, as I’ve got serious doubts about the number of people who actually read this column.

Talking about Facebook, you can now find all of the music photos I take every month at www.facebook.com/LiveAroundAmsterdam before any appear (if at all) in the Stun.

It was fairly quiet around the bars for most of December, but we still managed to get loads of photos to go with our Prize Crossword, Jokes, Gig List, Being Frank on Football and Elly’s Rants & Raves, so enjoy your first edition of the Amsterdam Stun in 2014.
