The Editor's Bit

This month’s cover is a bit of unsolicited advertising; it’s the Christmas tree sellers on Westerdoksplein. Alex and Robbert have been there as long as I’ve lived here, so why not. They’ve expanded since then and now have three more places to buy a quality tree. Check www.kerstbomenamsterdam.nl for locations. Who knows, if you show them this, they might give you a discount and pay me a commission. With Christmas rapidly approaching, I could do with a bit of festive cheer.

Talking of festive cheer, Tommy in the Coca Leaf Liquor Store picked a winner for last month’s Cover Competition; Callum Dickie wins a bottle of Agwa De Bolivia or Coca Leaf Wine for being the lucky one of many who knew it was the Sint Nicolaaskerk.

How could I say no to joining a photo of Shakira with our old friends Klaas and Abbe.

It’s even longer since I last saw Oggy, but her reputation must live on because nobody would take our photo, so I had to do a selfie!

Seeing old friends is nice, but making new friends is nicer; I really enjoyed getting to know Lesley at Molly Malone’s 20th Anniversary Party. See pages 16-18 for more photos of the shenanigans in Molly’s.

All of our usual stuff is here and the jokes have a festive tint to them, so enjoy your Stun, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
