The Editor's Bit

I think it’s about time we had our first Cover Competition of 2018! I didn’t get around to asking any of our sponsors to donate a prize, but if you can tell me the name of the bridge with all the ‘Love Locks’, you’ll get an Honourable Mention in this column next month.

I’m often asked if I can Photoshop my photos to make the subject look better. I’m not skilled enough to make you look slimmer, but I can remove spots and blemishes. In the past, I have toned down the redness in Shaun’s face, but I couldn’t be bothered with the one of him with Josie and myself in front of the recently revealed brickwork in the Flying Dutchman, although I did digitally trim my wild eyebrows.

Last month, I thought it was about time I accepted host Ken Parsons’ invite to Nutty Anita’s Comedy Night in De Nieuwe Anita. They had their 4th anniversary show this month, so my first visit took a while.

My friend Sarah was always nagging me to go see her brother Alex Blackwood perform at the Amsterdam Magic Show and last month, I finally made it. It was their last regular show in Paleis van de Weemoed because they have moved to the larger Boom Chicago Theatre, but they haven’t cut their ties with the Paleis; starting in March, they will have a Magic Dinner Show. Check out www.amsterdam-magic.com for details and use discount code STUN to get 10% off the price of your tickets.

All of our usual stuff is here this month, so enjoy your Amsterdam Stun.
