The Editor's Bit

If I haven't seen you yet, Happy New Year. We stayed at home on the 31st, but Róisín and Beth saw my appeal in this column last month and sent us some pictures; they're on page 7.

We did go out for a drink on Christmas Eve; Elly will tell you all about it in Tales from the Gutter, starting on page 4.

I made it through the snow for the Blarney Stone's 21st birthday party, but I left my bike at home. Luckily, it's not far from our house, so the Blarney was my first and last stop of the evening. The pictures are on pages 20 & 21.

As they are about the only days worth braving the weather for in December and January, it takes a bit longer to get enough pictures to fill the Stun, which is why this is a combined January & February edition.

So, what has this new year got in store? Amongst other things, a new version of McAfee anti-virus that won't install on the seven year old PC running Windows 2000 that I use to make the Stun! I can't upgrade to the current version of Windows; my PC isn't powerful enough and I can't afford a new one, so it's time for a new appeal. If you are replacing your 2/3 year old PC with a new one, why not donate the old one to me so that I can safely continue bringing you the Stun every month.

This first Stun of 2011 has all our regular stuff, like photos, gigs, jokes, football and a prize crossword, so enjoy your Stun.
