The Editor's Bit

It’s not an April Fool’s joke; this edition of the Amsterdam Stun really is appearing on the 1st of April! With Easter coming up at the weekend, our printer’s Express service can’t deliver until next week, so I’ll have to go for the Next-Day option and sod the expense.

After three years of service, I’ve decided to retire the Canon compact camera I carry when I’m delivering a lot of Stuns. It looked like a bargain when I bought it, but I was never very happy with the flash photos it made and that’s what I needed it for most, so it was time for change. I’ve replaced it with a Lumix compact that offers me more creative control over the photos I take, and so far, I’m well happy with it. It can’t beat the quality I can get from my big Nikon, but certainly good enough for most of my needs. On the opposite page, the photo of Albert was taken with the Canon, Stuart with the Lumix and the others with the Nikon. I think I’ll be using the Lumix most of the time from now on, but still use the Nikon at parties.

The biggest party of the year, King’s Day, is only a few weeks away and I will be out and about with my camera; but which one?

Elly didn’t feel too good over the last week, so there’s no Prize Crossword or Elly’s Rants & Raves this month, but we’ve got loads of photos, including four pages from Paddy’s Day parties, and all of our regular bits, so enjoy your Amsterdam Stun.
