The Editor's Bit

´╗┐Some of our readers not only knew the location of the podium featured on last month’s cover, but also entered the Cover Competition by emailing me the answer; Vondelpark!
Brian donated the prize, so I got him to pick the winner and the bottle of house wine goes to Jaro Mir; congratulations!
As a consolation prize, I’m giving an Honourable Mention to Laura Roberts, who made me laugh with a story involving the podium in her younger, sillier days.
Getting entries for the Cover Competition has restored my faith in the Stun’s readership, so I’ll have another one, with a prize, soon.
But not this month; it’s the statue of Rembrandt van Rijn, on Rembrandtsplein. It was inevitable that I’d put a photo of the statue on the cover of the Stun at sometime this year because there’s a lot going on to mark the 350th anniversary of his death. Instead of going for the month he died, October, I went for the month he was born, July, the same as me. I hope I live longer that he did, because I’ve just noticed he was born 350 years, less four days, before me.
Yes, it’s my birthday this month, so if you see me in a bar, feel free to buy me a drink!
Our football correspondent Frank is taking a well deserved break this month, and apologies for the photos I couldn’t include, but all of the usual stuff is here, so enjoy your Stun.
