The Editor's Bit

A lot of you recognised the statue of Spinoza on the cover of last month’s Stun, but once again, the Honourable Mention goes to Alan “Big Al” Sells from Texas who was the first to email me with the answer. He told me that he’s taken so many photos of statues and buildings during his many visits, he’s seen them all!
For this month’s Cover Competition, I’ll be awarding an Honourable Mention to the first person who can tell me the name and location of the artwork on the cover, and the second, if Big Al is first again.
If you’d prefer a more tangible prize, why not enter our Premier Predictions League? There’s €60 in vouchers for food & drinks from our friends at Coco’s Outback up for grabs! All you have to do is predict where you think every team in the English Premier League will finish at the end of this season. Details on how to enter digitally are on page 16, along with our Frank’s predictions for the new season. You’re also welcome to go old-school with the entry form on page 19. You can post/give it to me or take a photo and email it to me; all I ask is that you double check before sending it in.
I’ve finally got a replacement for my compact camera that got stolen a while back; it’s designed for taking selfies, so when Laura came in Café Oporto while I was taking it through its paces, I had to give it a go.
My new Lumix is much easier to carry than the old Nikon dslr that I’d brought back from retirement to use as an everyday camera, so I took it with me when I met up with Nancy and Gill at Molly Malone’s and took another selfie.
I’ll try to go easy on the selfies but I had to try it out; my camera is quite easy to use, so I’ll get other people to take photos of me in future.
