The Editor's Bit

We had not one, but two correct entries for last month’s Cover Competition! They both identified it as the Bredero monument on Nieuwmarkt, inspired by his play De Spaansche Brabander, so Honourable Mentions go to Frans Mensink and Wolfling Heidi! They both have another connection with the front of the Stun; Frans drew caricatures that appeared on two of our covers in the early noughties and Wolfling was on the cover of the first full-colour Stun back in 2013.
For this month’s Cover Competition, all you have to do is tell me the name and location of the statue on the cover. Contact details to send your entry to are on page two, or you can tell me in person, if you see me.
That’s what Frans did when I bumped into him at a party at a friend’s house in honour of former Dubliner landlady Nancee and her son Ferdia who flew in from Ireland. Nancee was here when we scattered Elly’s ashes in 2018 but the last time I saw Ferdia, he was 12 and now he’s leading the wild life of a Uni student.
There’s no Being Frank on Football this month, so some pages have moved from their usual spot, which gave us room for a bigger Gig List. We’ve also got a new sponsor, Café Havelaar, so hopefully, we’ll be back up to 24 pages again next month. Enjoy your Stun.
