The Editor's Bit

It wouldn’t be fair to give an Honourable Mention to the first person to tell me the location for this month’s Cover Competition; when you see a big golden astronaut, you don’t forget and somebody will probably tell me in the first bar I deliver this Stun to. Instead, I want you to tell me the name of the artwork if you want an Honourable Mention on this page next month. If you don’t know where it is, it’s easy to work out because I didn’t Photoshop out the names of the bars in the background.
If you’d like to enter, contact details are on page 2, or you can tell me in person if you meet me in a bar, but if that’s the case, make sure I write it down because I can be a bit forgetful.

Alan Sells gets the Honourable Mention for correctly identifying the location of the statue on last month’s cover. It’s on Van Limburg Stirumstraat, and he also told me the name of the artist who made it.
Al, I know that you’re in Texas and won’t have taken a photo of the statue on this month’s cover yet, but if you can tell me the name of the artist, I will award you a Supreme Mention, and you will have deserved it.

One competition where we do have REAL prizes is our annual Premier Predictions League, sponsored by Coco’s Outback. There are 4 x €15 vouchers for food +/or drink to be won if you can predict where more of the 20 teams in the English Premier League will finish the season than your fellow competitors. I’m glad to say that we’re back to having a drag & drop entry form, so it’s easy to enter. There’s a link to the entry form, along with our resident pundit’s predictions, in Being Frank on Football on pages 20 & 21.

Talking of Coco’s, Jane took a break from sailing around the Med to celebrate her birthday with family and friends in Coco’s Outback. More photos on pages 14 & 15.

They had some wood left over after the renovation work in the Backstage Bar, so Steven got Cor to make a Stun holder; photos from the re-opening party are on pages 16 & 17.

That’s all from me, all of our usual stuff is here, so enjoy your August edition of the Stun!
