The Editor's Bit

In the seven weeks since the last Stun hit the bars, not a single person came up with the answer to the Jan/Feb Cover Competition, apart from the bar crew and they weren’t allowed to enter. Even regulars in this bar who frequently have a crack at our Cover Competitions didn’t enter! Don’t they ever go to the toilet? Last month’s cover photo was taken downstairs in H. Murray’s!

For this month’s Cover Competition, we’re back to looking up in places everybody can see, so the question is: Where is it? If you know, tell me! Contact details are on page two, or you can tell me in person if you meet me in a bar, but if that’s the case, make sure I write it down because I can be a bit forgetful. The first person with the correct answer will get an Honourable Mention in this column next month.

All of the photos in this Stun, including the cover, were taken with my newish camera; I love it! I’ve wanted to put that little torentje on the cover for ages, but I never had a telephoto lens with me when I thought about it. My little Lumix compact with its 10x zoom, 24mp, 1″ sensor made it possible. On top of that, the auto-focus is much better at ignoring beer taps when I’m trying to take a photo of the person between them. There’s an example of that with Gen on Page Three.

No photos of me this month, I didn’t get out much in January and February, and when I did, I was taking the photos, so I need something more to fill this page...

Marie from Amnezia Music Management asked us to mention a band she represents, American Metal Power Trio “Stormstress”. In the band’s own words, they “strike with electrifying riffs, thunderous grooves and haunting melodies.”

You can catch them in The Cave on Friday 21st March as part of their “Across Troubled Seas” European tour.
