About The Stun

The Amsterdam Stun is a free magazine for the English speaking community who frequent the bars in the centre of Amsterdam. It was started by Andy Reeves in 1993 to let a few friends around the world know what he was up to. A few locals saw some of the extra copies that were left over, and things just got out of hand.

From 10 copies of a single sheet of A4 paper, we now have a 32-page magazine with a circulation of up to 1,000 copies a month going into ±40 of our favourite bars and coffeeshops around Amsterdam. On average, we have eight people contributing to each edition, English, Dutch, Irish and Scottish mainly, and none of us get paid: The Amsterdam Stun is a labour of love!
