The Editor's Bit

No matter what your beliefs are, even us atheists look on December as being the month of goodwill to all of our fellow human beings. With that in mind, I decided against putting another Christmas tree or Festive street-light scene on this month’s cover. Instead, we’ve got the statue on Oudekerksplein dedicated to sex workers, because Tuesday 17th December is the ‘International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers’.

The Red Light District has always been my favourite part of Amsterdam and over the years, I’ve got to know a few (former) sex workers socially (in a bar after they’ve finished work for the night) and they’ve all been lovely people. The fact that there has to be an ‘International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers’ is disgusting, when all they want to do is help spread the love that this world is sadly lacking at the moment.

We’ve got another full Amsterdam Stun for you again this month, with photos from a couple of parties and from around the bars, plus all of our usual stuff, so Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and enjoy your Stun.
